Ah, the final preseason game of the year. The regular season is just over a week away as the Chicago Bears will prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers to open up the season. Here are some quick takeaways from Thursday’s preseason finale in Chicago.
Jeremy Langford
The Bears rookie running back had another strong performance in the preseason finale. The rookie out of Michigan State is pretty much a lock to make the roster at this point, and one has to wonder if Fox will give him a look as the team’s number two back this season.
Langford finished with 55 yards on nine carries including this run below:

Quarterbacks
After the Bears brought in Zac Dysert to give second-year quarterback David Fales a battle for a roster spot, both got some playing time last night. In what was likely Fales last chance, the quarterback played very well to likely seal up a roster spot when cuts come. Fales could find himself as the backup on opening day if Jimmy Clausen doesn’t pass the NFL concussion protocol.
As for Dysert, he doesn’t have chance at taking Fales spot on the roster as his performance wasn’t good Thursday. The quarterback does have ties to Adam Gase and John Fox. If they like him enough to keep him, I’d be very shocked.
Jordan Mills
Mills may have just won the starting right tackle spot as he saw extended time in Thursday’s preseason finale. The 24-year-old has struggled this preseason and found himself in a position battle. Mills was the only starter to play on the line last night, playing with four other backups. But the extended time may have helped him as they head into the season with the position struggling as a whole.
Mason Foster
Playing in his first preseason finale, Foster said he's trying to earn #Bears roster spot, first and foremost. Would think he helped cause.

The 26-year-old inside linebacker was still fighting for a spot on the roster and he turned in a nice performance. Foster played well finishing with a sack, quarterback hit and two tackles for a loss. UPDATE: Foster has been released:

Injuries
Okay no one really knows what the hell is going on inside Halas Hall, but we will know more as we approach gameday in just about a week. The starters didn’t play for the most part on Thursday but after speculation, one has to wonder how serious Alshon Jeffery’s injury is and if he’s ready to go.
The Bears have some injury problems with other wide receivers including Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson. It’s frustrating, we all get it. But all we can do is put our faith in Fox to make the right calls.
