Mike is a 4* recruit from De La Salle High School on Chicago’s west side. The senior power forward is ranked as the 9th best player at his position and 58th best player in the country for the 2011 class. Many also say that he is a top 3 player in the state of Illinois.

Mike will be choosing between Illinois, DePaul, Marquette, Notre Dame, and West Virginia. With West Virginia receiving a verbal commitment from another recruit earlier in the day, many think that Mike is down to those first four.

“According to a source Shaw will choose Illinois, ending a hotly-contested four year recruiting battle between DePaul and the Illini.”
