On Friday, the Chicago Bulls and swing-man Keith Bogans have agreed to a 2-year, 2.5 million dollar deal – the second year being partially guaranteed.
Coming off of last season with the Spurs, Bogans is an 8th year veteran in the NBA. He has career averages of 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. The hope for Chicago is that Bogans will add extra depth at both wing positions behind Luol Deng, Ronnie Brewer, and Kyle Korver. Bogans may be able to provide three-point shooting and stellar perimeter defense off-the-bench.
Some may speculate that this signing means that the Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers will no longer be attempting to work out a trade for, shooting-guard, Rudy Fernandez. Bogans isn’t a high-octane offensive player, nor is he athletic, like Fernandez would be in the off-guard role.
The Chicago Bulls now have a full 12-man roster heading towards the 2010-11 season. The Bulls front office still seem eager to make further changes to the roster, and are reportedly looking into the possibility of signing Fernandez or free-agent Tracy McGrady.
