Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has dealt with very harsh criticism from the media since being drafted to Chicago last year. This trend has continued following a report that Williams originally did not want to join Chicago, and would rather play for the Minnesota Vikings, and even considered signing with the United Football League. This was reported by ESPN’s Seth Wickersham in his upcoming book ‘American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback’.
Another major glaring issue that was reported was a rumor about Williams not knowing how to watch film. Wickersham confirmed rumors about the previous Bears coaching staff not helping the young quarterback with how to watch game film.
The Bears’ quarterback was asked about this when speaking to the media on Wednesday, and he shot down the rumor of him not knowing how to watch film.
Caleb Williams laughed when asked about the rumor

When asked about the report, Williams chuckled. Williams cleared up the rumor, explaining that he knows how to watch film, but he wanted to be “more efficient” with it.
Caleb Williams chuckled at the report about him not knowing how to watch film last year — "It wasn't that I didn't know how to watch film. I wanted to be more efficient with it. That was a funny thing that came out."

“Learning ways to watch film and be more efficent. Learning ways to pick up things better. It wasn’t that I didnt know how to watch film, it was trying to figure out the best and more efficent ways so I can watch more film and gather more information.”
"It wasn't that I didn't know how to watch film… it was learning ways to watch film and be more efficient."

The second-year quarterback also mentioned to the media that head coach Ben Johnson has been helping him with what to look for on film.
Hopefully, the Bears quarterback can now move on after addressing these reports to the media. Williams has the potential to finally give Chicago a franchise quarterback.
With the coaching staff and players around him, Williams has all the tools to succeed in his second season. The expectations are very high for him as he is expected to make a major leap this season.
