The Chicago Blackhawks hand the Buffalo Sabres their 10th straight road loss defeating them by a final score 4-2.

Buffalo got on the scoreboard first when Brent Seabrook was caught up ice allowing a Jason Pominville breakaway opportunity in which Pominville sniped past Corey Crawford.

A little over three minutes later, Andrew Shaw found a loose puck in the crease and buried home the shot that tied the game at 1. The 20-year old rookie has now scored a goal in four consecutive games and has 5 total in just 8 games this season.

Jonathan Toews put the Blackhawks in front after tipping in a shot from Brent Seabrook on the power play.

Jason Pominville notched his second goal of the game early in the second period on the power play that tied the game 2-2, but it didn’t take long for that to change.

Marian Hossa quietly jumped on the ice slipping by a couple Buffalo defenders. Duncan Keith fed him a beautiful pass that led to a breakaway and squirted one by Jhonas Enroth to put the Blackhawks back up by a goal. Chicago didn’t look back after that.

Jimmy Hayes, Dave Bolland, and Jonathan Toews (2nd of the game on the power play) were credited with the 4th, 5th, and 6th goals of the game that put the game way out of reach.

A strong 60-minute game for the Blackhawks in every aspect, something we haven’t seen in a while. The young guns shined again: Jimmy Hayes was named the #1 star of the game as added a goal and an assist tonight, Andrew Shaw scored his fourth goal in the last 4 games and was credited with an assist on Toews’ first goal, and Marcus Kruger won both of his faceoffs, registered a team-high 4 hits, and should have been credited with a goal, but it was waved off due to a hand pass late in the 2nd period.

Corey Crawford showed us another decent outing stopping 25 of 27 shots faced.

The Blackhawks have now won their last 4 games at home improving their home record to 18-5-4. With the two points earned tonight, they also move back up to the #1 seed in the Western Conference with 62 points.
