A few key Chicago Bears were back on the practice field Wednesday afternoon which is a good sign for a team that struggled Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Offense

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall, offensive lineman Roberto Garza and offensive lineman Matt Slauson all returned to practice. Marshall returned and fully participated in practice which is a good sign entering Sundays game at Carolina. Last week Marshall didn’t practice ahead of the teams game vs. Green Bay. Marshall sprained his ankle in week one and re-aggravated it against the Jets.
Both Garza and Slauson are listed as day-to-day on the injury report. There’s a chance one or both could play Sunday, but that situation will develop more as the week goes on.
Defense
Among those returning to the defensive side of the ball for the Bears is defensive lineman Jared Allen and Jeremiah Ratliff. Allen had pneumonia, which caused him to miss Sunday’s game against Green Bay.
Ratliff returned to practice but was limited. He is still questionable for Sunday as he needs to pass the concussion protocol to play.
Linebackers D.J. Williams and Lance Briggs both missed practice on Wednesday. Briggs is dealing with knee soreness but is expected to play Sunday.
With a fractured right hand, linebacker Shea McClellin was not present for the media portion of practice. He’s missed the past two games with the injury. Also missing the media portion was safety Ahmad Dixon who is dealing with a hamstring injury.
