The Chicago Bears have endured a busy and chaotic 2025 offseason. General Manager Ryan Poles has been extremely busy trying to bring winning football back to the city of Chicago.

Since free agency in March, the Bears have completely reestablished the interior offensive line, signing top center Drew Dalman and trading for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson. They also took a massive priority to extend contracts to key pieces of their defense, extending cornerback Kyler Gordon and linebacker TJ Edwards.

The Bears then used the NFL Draft to continue to build their team. One of the biggest priorities was to continue to build the offense around quarterback Caleb Williams. Poles and Ben Johnson continued to take care of that in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.

They selected Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with the 10th overall pick. They also selected speedy wide receiver Luther Burden from Missouri. The Bears received praise from many analysts and fans regarding these two draft choices. Burden was a surprising and exciting pick due to him being originally expected to be taken in the late first round of the NFL draft.

With the draft and free agency being over, many wonder where the Bears rank among the 31 other teams in the NFL. On Thursday, the NFL posted a post draft power rankings video on X.

In the NFL’s latest power rankings, the Bears are ranked 16th out of the 32 teams in the league. This was also the same ranking they had following the start of free agency back in March.

Chicago is ranked lower than their three divisional rival teams. Minnesota, Green Bay, and Detroit are all listed in the top 10 teams in the NFL. Minnesota is ranked at 10 overall, moving down three spots. Green Bay is ranked at 9, moving down just one spot. The Detroit Lions have stayed in the top five, ranking fifth.

The Chicago Bears still have very high expectations for 2025

Even though the Bears are ranked in the middle of the pack, the team is expected to have a much-improved 2025 season. With an improved offensive line and a dynamic play caller in Ben Johnson, quarterback Caleb Williams has massive expectations for his second year in the NFL.

Many players on the Bears roster have mentioned that they believe the team is in “win now mode”. While it is still early to tell, it looks like the Bears could be building something great for 2025.
