The Chicago Bears have announced via a team release that they have signed offensive lineman Eben Britton to a one-year contract. Britton worked out at Halas Hall yesterday after the team suffered two injuries on the offensive line.
The team also signed wide receiver Greg Herd to the practice squad and have released wide receiver/kick returner Michael Spurlock.
Britton was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent time with the Bears last season and has played in 50 games over five seasons in the NFL. He started four games for the Bears last season.
