The Chicago Cubs announced today the rest of the non-roster invitees of whom we will see at spring training. These are players who are not on the 40-man roster. Most of the players on the 40-man roster already are invited to spring training.
Non-roster invitees:
*Catchers J.C. Boscan, Michael Brenly and Rafael Lopez.
*Infieldiers Javier Baez, Alberto Gonzalez, Brent Lillibridge, Edwin Maysonet and Brad Nelson.
*Outfielders Brian Bogusevic, Johermyn Chavez and Darnell McDonald.
*Pitchers Drew Carpenter, Jaye Chapman, Casey Coleman, Dayan Diaz, Jensen Lewis, Barret Loux, Blake Parker, Zach Putnam, Nick Struck, Hisanori Takahashi, and Cory Wade.
**Yes, Baez the Cubs top prospect will be in camp; however, he has no chance in making the team. But it is nice to see him there. As he may be closer to the majors then we have thought.
**Out of all the non-roster invitees, I only see Brent Lillibridge making the team as the 25th guy on the bench.
