Chicago Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg is latest to join RESTORE roster

It was in 2016 when we got our first look at Chicago Bears legend Brian Urlacher with hair thanks to his procedure from RESTORE.

Soon after, Chicago sports figures Eddie Olczyk, Jim Cornelison, Bryan Bickell and Jason McKie signed on to the RESTORE roster and had the treatment done. They even had a special celebration at Arlington Park back in June to celebrate their new roster.

Now the latest legend has officially been announced.

Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg made it official on Thursday, announcing he has joined the RESTORE roster.

Sandberg had the procedure done in Spring of 2016 according to the company but has kept it under wraps, and a hat, this entire time.

That is until Sandberg made the big reveal early Thursday morning. RESTORE actually teased who would become the next athlete reveal with a Facebook post on Wednesday morning.

Check out the legend before and after his procedure:

Sandberg began suffering hair loss about 12 years ago when he was just 45-years-old and it was challenging for him as he loved to be outdoors doing several of his favorite activities.

“My hair started thinning and that really picked up over the last few years,” Ryne said via RESTORE. “I was getting more self-conscious about going to events. If I didn’t cut or comb my hair just right, you could really tell I was losing it.”

So the decision to do the procedure was set and Sandberg went through it.

In 2016 Sandberg returned to the Chicago Cubs organization as an official team ambassador. He was with the team when they won the 2016 World Series, ending a 108-year drought.

It was in the offseason when he made the decision to do the procedure and now he’s feeling great.

“Having hair has restored my sense of youthfulness and vitality,” he said. “I feel younger. I feel more like one of the guys when I’m interacting with the players – and that’s amazing!”

RESTORE plans on unveiling more additions to their roster in Spring of 2018 including local and national celebrities.
