The search for the next manager of the Chicago Cubs continues on even after the franchise interviewed top candidates Joe Girardi and David Ross last week.
Next up for the Cubs are interviews this week with Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada and former Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler per reports. This news comes after Carlos Beltran turned down the chance to interview with the Cubs as he wants to focus on the New York Mets job.
The two candidates are just the latest in the ongoing search after the team parted ways with former manager Joe Maddon. These also should be the final interviews before the Cubs make a decision, possibly sometime next week.
It would be shocking to see this search last past this week and even next as we should have a decision soon.
