Chicago is known for great basketball talent from high school to the NBA, and this week the top high school players in the country will descend on Chicago to showcase their skills.

The McDonalds All-American Game and festivities will take place starting Monday, April 1st and run until April 3rd. Practices, media day and the Powerade Jam Fest all take place Monday and Tuesday and the festivities wrap up with the All-American game at the United Center Wednesday Night.

In past years the game has featured stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose.

The event is headlined by local star Jabari Parker, who has accomplished more than any other Illinois high school player ever. The Simeon forward is  one of the top recruits in the country and has committed to Duke.

Parker welcomes prep phenom Andrew Wiggins who has taken the high school basketball scene by storm ever since he reclassified to the 2013 class.  Parker and Wiggins both have gone back and forth for the top spot this season on multiple media outlets. Wiggins has yet to commit, but has narrowed his list down to Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas and Florida State.

Did I mention both were on opposite teams for the All-American game?

While Parker and Wiggins generate most of the buzz at the event this week, there is still a boat load of talent here.

Kentucky is represented well with recruits Julius Randle, Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison and James Young as the Wildcats boost the #1 recruiting class this season.

Aaron Gordon, a top 5 prospect, will announce his college decision during the media day event on Tuesday.

ChiCitySports.com will bring you full coverage of the weeks events, so stay tuned for more information. Follow us on Twitter for updates on the event.

You can also buy tickets for the event at the United Center here.
