The Chicago White Sox are yet again in a tough stretch and are in the middle of another losing streak. The White Sox dropped their fifth straight game to the Red Sox, where they gave them a nice welcome to Boston, beating them by a score of 10-3.
This season for the White Sox has gone as everyone expected, but it hasn’t helped that the Sox have had so many injuries. Injuries have plagued the White Sox all season and have affected them since spring training began.
An injury has turned its head again, as yet another White Sox player will be heading to the injured list after suffering one last night.
Chicago White Sox will be down another player due to injury

The White Sox will be without the services of their offseason acquisition, Martín Pérez, who, before today’s game against the Boston Red Sox, the White Sox announced that they placed Pérez on the 15-day injured list. In a corresponding move, the White Sox have recalled Jared Shuster from Triple-A Charlotte.
“Prior to today’s game vs. Boston, the Chicago White Sox placed left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation and recalled left-hander Jared Shuster from Class AAA Charlotte.”

Pérez had been one of the White Sox’s only starting pitchers who gave them quality starts, as the starting staff had had a rough go after getting off to a hot start. So far this season, Pérez has a 1-1 record with a 3.15 ERA in 20.0 innings.
Pérez will be missed by the White a Sox

Pérez going on the injured list couldn’t come at a worse time, as the White Sox need him not to eat innings, but to pitch as much as he can, so he can boost his trade value. Pérez’s injury could be concerning as forearm tightness could be a prelude to Tommy John surgery.
The White Sox have not had the best luck with pitchers getting injured, as a good amount of their arms will miss the 2025 season due to Tommy John surgery. Hopefully, this is nothing, and rest and treatment will get Pérez back into working order.
Shuster had been doing well at Charlotte, posting a 1.59 ERA in six outings for the Knights. Shuster was optioned before the season after he had a disastrous spring training.
He should slide into the bullpen nicely and give the White Sox a boost there, as they need all the help they can get. If Pérez spot does come back up in the rotation and he still needs more time to heal, the White Sox could turn to Bryse Wilson to make a spot start.
