Baseball America released its 2018 Top 100 Prospects List on Monday and it featured five players from the Chicago White Sox organization.
Outfielder Eloy Jimenez led the White Sox as he ranked 4th on the list marking the second-consecutive year the team has had a player ranked in the top five and have five or more players to be named to the list.
The future is bright for Jimenez who is projected to be the next up and coming right handed power hitter.
In the minors last season, he crushed in both single A and double batting .312 with 19 home runs in 89 combined games. The White Sox will have Jimenez in camp for Spring Training and are expected to have him start the 2018 season in Double-A Birmingham with a chance to be called up to the majors later in the season.
He was the key prospect for the White Sox when they traded All-Star pitcher Jose Quintana to the crosstown Cubs last season. Before the trade he was then the number one prospect in the Cubs organization.
The other players making the list were pitchers Michael Kopech (11th), Alec Hansen (57th), and Dan Dunning (82nd). The other position player to make the list was young Cuban outfielder Luis Robert who is still a few years away from appearing the majors, he ranked 58th.
Former White Sox prospect Fernando Tatis Jr. ranked 9th on the list for the San Diego Padres as he was traded away in the James Shields trade.
