A win in Tennessee would bring the Blackhawks back into the 8th seed for the Western Conference Playoff hunt. After a handful of moves and a period of finding team chemistry, the Hawks look to build on a two game winning streak. Quenneville, who missed the last 4 games due a peptic ulcer, was back at the helm.

Playing full strength on both ends, Tomas Kopecky scored off two quick passes from Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead with 3 minutes left in the 1st period. Most of the period was fought on the Predators Ice, with good defensive stops to keep the game in control.
Toews had a few good looks as the Hawks showed signs of symmetry on the ice from a recharged line. Holding the lead throughout 2, the Hawks looked as energized as we have seen them in recent weeks.
Marian Hossa made a brilliant takeaway, setup and shot for goal early in the 3rd to extend the Hawks lead to 2-0.
Only 2 penalties in the game, leaving little room for power play opportunities, the game moved quick, as the Hawks skated to an easy win over a division opponents, putting the Blackhawks at 70 game points, and edging the tiebreaker for eight place.
Corey Crawford held 31 shots in a solid performance for his 3rd shutout of the year. Sharp also scored an empty netter in the final minutes.
