Cubs 12, Angels 1

Chicago — The Cubs brought the sticks to the yard on Father’s Day and unloaded upon Joe Saunders (5-8). Saunders didn’t make it out of the 3rd inning and had little help from his defense as 2 errors led to 3 unearned runs. Saunders allowed 8 overall (5 earned) in 2 2/3 innings. Carlos Zambrano (3-5) shut down the Angels offense going 7 innings  and allowing just one run while striking out 7.

Every Cubs starter had a hit today and Derrek Lee led the offensive charge with 2 hits and 4 RBI. Ryan Theriot added 3 hits and scored 3 runs as well. Torii Hunter drove in the lone run for Los Angeles.

Been following Chicago sports for many years. I have ties to Rockford, Illinois however have since been displaced in North Carolina far from Illinois. I am still an avid fan despite the geographical complications in following my teams. I am known as the internet’s #1 Rex Grossman connoisseur
