The Chicago Bears won’t be facing Peyton Manning on Sunday when John Fox’s former team comes to Soldier Field. Instead they will take on backup Brock Osweiler.
The Broncos announced on Monday that Manning has a torn plantar fascia in his left foot. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Broncos players said Manning had a tough time walking last week.
Some Broncos players told ESPN that Manning, who was pulled from Sunday’s 29-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the third quarter, had difficulty walking last week.
That makes sense as Manning was awful in the Broncos loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. It was arguably Manning’s worst game in the NFL as he finished with a quarterback rating of 0.
Osweiler entered the game for Manning and threw for 146 yards on 14-of-24 passing with a touchdown and interception. The 24-year-old will make his first start and has just 305 passing yards in his career:

Chicago enters the game on a two-game win streak and could sweep the AFC West with a win. They are also right back in the playoff hunt and a win on Sunday would be huge for their chances.
