Don’t Let Packers Defeat Put You off Backing the Bears in 2019

The Chicago Bears didn’t get off to the start they would have been looking for against divisional rivals Green Bay Packers in their NFL opener for the 2019 regular season. Although that defeat means Matt Nagy’s side have work to do to put themselves back in control of the division which they won in 2018, there are still several reasons to feel a bet on them having a successful campaign is a reasonable idea.

Here are the odds on the Bears in the respective divisional, conference and Super Bowl markets with the bookmakers in 2019.

Bears +200 to Win NFC North

Last season’s NFC North title was Chicago’s first since 2010 and although they have lost an important divisional match up against arguably their biggest rival in the division at home, there’s no need for concern just yet: there are 15 more games to go in the regular season. It’s hard to imagine that the Bears offense will play any worse this year. They looked rusty and the hope is, they will get sharper as the campaign progresses. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky made the Pro Bowl last year and has done enough to prove why Chicago drafted him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Bears won the NFC North with a 12-4 record in 2018 and they could still match that tally so now is the time to back them in the divisional market. You could do worse than to check the betting picks for their next round of fixtures where you can find all the latest odds on the Bears next game and the best offers for those looking to open a new account.

Chicago +1000 in NFC Championship Market

Bears fans experienced agony last season in the Wild Card Round of the 2018/19 NFL Playoffs with a defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field. Cody Parkey’s missed field goal in the dying stages of the game cost them a place in the Divisional Round. Nagy will have set the challenge to his team to improve on that showing in the playoffs this season. With a defense as strong as it is, the Bears are capable of coming out on top in the NFC. The addition of Khalil Mack in 2018 has helped transform this defense into arguably the best in the league. Chicago have been massively underrated by the bookmakers in the NFC Championship betting as they are +1000 which looks to be fantastic value.

Bears +2000 to Lift Vince Lombardi Trophy in Miami

Since they won their first and only Super Bowl in 1985, Bears fans have been longing for a team which could be good enough to follow up their maiden success. Chicago are +2000 in the Super Bowl betting where they are more than lively outsiders. The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are the bookmakers’ favourites but they both sit in the AFC so the Bears’ path is made slightly easier there. In 2018, the Bears beat the LA Rams 15-6, holding one of the best offenses in the NFL to just six points so they have proved they are capable of defeating any team in the league on their day.

The 2020 Super Bowl takes place in Miami, Florida and Bears fans will already have the date of February 2 marked off on their calendars.
