The Chicago Bears have received some good production from their 2015 rookie class despite their top selection not playing a game so far.
That’s because the Bears are getting production from players on the defensive side of the ball that has fans hoping the future is bright. One of those players is nose tackle Eddie Goldman who was selected in the second round with the 39th overall pick. And going into the season he figured to play in the backup role with Jarvis Jenkins and Jeremiah Ratliff taking the starter roles.
Now Goldman has taken over as the starter and he’s making his impact felt.
In Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Goldman’s impact was felt when he recorded two sacks on quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The two sacks gave him 4.5 on the season which is good for most by any NFL rookie:

That’s pretty impressive seeing that he’s only played 430 snaps on the season. What’s also interesting is that Danny Shelton, who many ranked as the best DT in the draft, hasn’t recorded a sack yet this season. With Goldman excelling, the Bears may have found a steal on the defensive line for years to come.
