On Tuesday morning, Chicago Cubs president Jed Hoyer hinted that the team would make a minor transaction on Tuesday for the bullpen, as Porter Hodge is headed to the 15-day injured list with an oblique issue.
Hoyer said any significant trade for relief help wouldn’t happen until at least the middle of June.
“I think there’s no question that the bullpen is going to be aided by outside help, whether that’s big transactions or small,” Hoyer told 670 The Score. “I think there’s no question we’re going to continue to add guys… And you just got to keep churning through relievers. I think, as far as larger transactions, that doesn’t really start probably until mid to late June at the earliest.”
