Former Top 10 Pick Amobi Okoye joins Bears Defensive Line
In the last 48 hours the Bears have signed 3 former Top 10 draft picks in Amobi Okoye, Roy Williams, and Vernon Gholston. Okoye agreed to a 1 year dea. with the Bears on Saturday. These former Top 10 picks hope to rejuvenate their careers in the Windy City.
“It’s an opportunity to come in and continue our careers” said Okoye. The Texans announced they would be moving to a 3-4 defense instead of a 4-3 defense and no longer needed Okoye. In his career with Houston he started 58 games over the span of 4 seasons. He recorded 138 tackles, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Okoye will be apart of a scary rotation of rushers that include the likes of Anthony Adams, Matt Toeaina, Stephen Paea, and Henry Melton.
