The Chicago Bears not only were embarrassed on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they suffered some key injuries as well.
Quarterback Jay Cutler was clearly not the same entering the game, coming up short on a few passes and being unable to grip the ball. It was noted that Cutler might have suffered some ligament damage in the Bears’ loss to the Texans in week one.
After being strip sacked and throwing an interception, Cutler left the game in the third quarter with the Bears trailing.
On Tuesday, head coach John Fox announced that Cutler had a sprained right thumb. He won’t need surgery right away and is currently “day-to-day” with the injury:

The bad news didn’t stop there. Fox also announced that linebacker Danny Trevathan, a free agent signing in the offseason, will undergo surgery on his injured thumb.

Monday’s game featured several injuries to the defense including Eddie Goldman who was in a walking boot but no crutches on Tuesday. Linebacker Lamarr Houston suffered a knee injury but the Bears have not released any information. It’s believed to be series.
And finally Bryce Callahan and Adrian Amos have entered the NFL’s Concussion Protocol.
