As the NBA is in the middle of its conference championships, the league announced its All-NBA teams on Thursday afternoon.

While it will certainly be a summer filled with more trade speculation surrounding Jimmy Butler, the forward does know one thing: He’s a member of the All-NBA team.

Butler was named to the All-NBA Third Team on Thursday, edging out Indiana’s Paul George and Salt Lake’s Gordon Hayward. The forward received 19 second team and 45 third team votes:

With Butler’s future unclear due to trade talks, if the does remain in Chicago this selection could be significant down the road.

If he makes the All-NBA Team one more time in the next two seasons, he would be eligible for the Designated Player Veteran Extension which would bring him $245 million for 5-years. The new rule was implemented into the NBA’s CBA in 2016.

Butler was fantastic for the Bulls in 2016 averaging 23.9 points, 6.2 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. The Bulls were bounced in six games in the first round of the playoffs.
