Joakim Noah’s days as a Chicago Bull are almost officially over.

Earlier today, Noah posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a New York Knicks hat. Hours later, it was announced that the center agreed to a deal with the Knicks worth $72 million over 4 years.

Noah will be joining fellow former Bulls player, Derrick Rose, as well as Carmelo Anthony and second year forward Kristaps Porzingis. Ironically, it was two years ago this day that Noah and Rose were members of the Bulls attempting to convince Anthony to come to Chicago: now the trio will joining forces in Manhattan.

After a rough first year, Noah found his niche and was able to channel his emotions to become the Bulls’ energizer bunny. He was a key component for several postseason runs, including the greatest first round series ever against the Boston Celtics.

He was also the key cog in the Tom Thibodeau machine when Derrick Rose missed two consecutive seasons. Noah had a huge game against the Brooklyn Nets in Game 7 of their first round series, with 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks in 41 minutes on turf toe.

The following year was Noah’s best as he averaged 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game as he went on to win DPOY, the first in Bulls history since Michael Jordan won it in 1987-88. Noah finished 5th in MVP voting as well and lead the Bulls to a 45-37 season where they had home advantage as the number four seed.

Noah’s work with inner city youth will also be missed, as he and Rev. Father Michael Pfleger have teamed up on multiple occasions to help curb the gun violence problem in Chicago, as well as Noah spearheading the “Rock Your Drop” campaign.

The Bulls are undergoing a facelift and a new era had begun.
