John Fox: “I think Kevin White’s leg is healed”

The Chicago Bears could be getting rookie wide receiver Kevin White back sooner than later.

During his press conference on Monday, head coach John Fox told the media that White’s leg is healed meaning we will likely see him sometime this year. “I think his leg is healed. Now it’s a matter of getting him into football shape,” Fox said via Kevin Fishbain.

The 2015 first round pick has missed the entire 2015 season as he’s dealed with a stress fracture in his left shin. White had surgery to fix the shin which included inserting a rod back in August.

On Sunday White was running through drills prior to the Bears loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Soldier Field. The Bears recently activated him off the PUP list and the 21-day window to determine if he can play or not comes Tuesday, Dec. 15. If White returns, it’s likely we could see him in action for the Bears week 15 game in Minnesota.

The Bears offense has struggled at times this season due to injuries to receivers. Number one receiver Alshon Jeffery has missed a total of five games while free agent signing Eddie Royal has missed six games. On Sunday the Bears were without both Royal and Marquess Wilson, turning to young receivers Josh Bellamy and Cameron Meredith.

With the Bears playoff hopes very slim, getting White back could give fans the look of the future with him and Jeffery on the field together. Chicago’s plan is to likely re-sign Jeffery, hopefully giving them a duo that can come close to what they had with Brandon Marshall and Jeffery for a few years.
