Jon Lester continued his dominance at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night, helping push the Chicago Cubs past the San Francisco Giants 4-1.
Lester was fantastic against a tough Giants lineup.
The lefty threw a 99-pitch complete game, giving up just 4 hits and striking out 10 batters in the process. To say Lester was on his game is an understatement.
He rarely found himself in any trouble during the game, getting a double play in the second and then giving up just 1 run in the fifth inning which started with a Buster Posey double.
For Lester, it was another great performance at home. Since the start of the 2016 season, Lester’s ERA at Wrigley Field is just 1.78 and he’s on a 12-game win streak:

The performance was very Maddux-esque as it took just a little over 2 hours. He didn’t get the shutout, preventing him from getting a “Maddux” game but it was damn close.

Lester is next scheduled to pitch Sunday in Los Angeles as the Cubs are going on a six-game West Coast road trip.
