Last years  inaugural Charles Tillman Celebrity Pro BOWLer Tournament raised more than $160,000 in charitable donations. This year Tillman will again team up with  premier entertainment venue Kings Lanes, Lounge and Sports for the second annual Pro BOWLer Tournament.

To kick-off the event, Kings Lanes honored Tillman and his Cornerstone Foundation with a $10,000 charitable contribution.

“When we met Charles we were blown away by him as a person. We brainstormed and pitched him this event,” said Kings CEO Frank Stryjewski. “It evolved into the first event last June 7th, the Pro BOWLer Tournament.

The $10,000 donation was raised as a six month collection of Kings Lanes shoe rental fee. Tillman was on hand for the presentation at Kings Lanes Tuesday as part of the kick-off event.

“Kings is gracious enough to donate time and money as well as their facility to our foundation. It’s really for a great cause, and it’s a great event,” said Tillman the Pro-Bowl cornerback from the Chicago Bears.

Tillman started the ‘Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation’ in 2005 and has improved the lives of more than one million children in the Chicago area. Every penny earned from this event will go to funding the care for those children.

As part of the Cornerstone Foundation, Tillman provides a “locker” for sick children filled with electronics, games and other things to help keep their mind off things and make them happy.

“The Charles locker is put there to help families forget about their sickness while they are in the hospital. It helps them forget about sitting in the hospital all day.”

The Second Annual Charles Tillman Celebrity Pro BOWLer Tournament presented by Meijer will take place Wednesday, June 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Kings Lanes. For more information please visit CharlesTillman.org.
