Late Push leads Blue Jays over Sox

It was a very bumpy game for both teams.

Toronto took an early lead on the Bautista double.  The Sox ould recover by scoring 3 runs of their own.  Pierre Nix had back to back RBI singles followed by an RBI ground out by Gordon Beckham.

It got ugly in the 3rd as Adam Lind scored 2 with his 2 RBI single, then Vernon Wells added to the pain with a 2 run home run.  Alexei Ramirez would get one run back with his RBI double play.

Alex Rios then tied it with a bomb to left field and the Sox eventually took the lead with a Juan Pierre HBP. Carlos Quentin then knocked in another on his RBI double.

Bobby Jenks tried to lock it down in the 9th but when Freddie Lewis stepped to the plate, he unloaded with a 3 run shot to right field.  Scott Linebrink then came in but it did not get much better.  On a double play attempt a bad throw by Scott and a missed catch by Ramirez let the inning go on.  Gonzalez made it 9-7 with an rbi single to left.

The Sox had opportunity after opportunity as they left 12 men on base.  The Sox had bases loaded no outs when Alexei grounded into a DP.  However a run did score.  Ramon Castro came to the plate where he proceeded to strike out.

Gavin Floyd was sub par for the Sox as he went 6.1 innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits.

The most disappointing pitchers of them all was Bobby Jenks.  He was credited with 4 hits and 3 runs in no innings of work.  Yes you read that right, NO innings of work!

The Sox finished this homestand 3-4 and the series 1-3.
