Chicago Bears (3-2)

The Chicago Bears will look to rebound from a tough defeat in overtime against the Miami Dolphins last week. They will have their hands full with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots who have won their last three games including a shoot out against the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 43-40 in week six.

If the Bears hope to corral the Patriots offense, they will need to sack the quarterback, something they were unable to do last week against Brock Osweiler. With a loss, Chicago could fall out of first place where they have been in sole control since week three. Injuries could affect the Bears effort as both Allen Robinson and Bryce Callahan are questionable for the game.

Green Bay Packers (3-2-1)

Green Bay will have their bye week this week following a comeback win against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night this past week. It comes at a right time as the Packers defense has struggled to stop opponents the last few weeks as they have allowed 30 points in their last two games.

The team as a whole has failed to control games this season as their only win by three points or more came at home against the Buffalo Bills back in week four. Other than the Bills game, the Packers have either trailed or have needed their last drive to score to win in all their other games which is a rarity for Aaron Rodgers led teams.

Week 7 storylines:

  • The Packers struggles to rush the passer (Cheesehead TV)
  • Is this the biggest bye week in Mike McCarthy’s coaching career? (Acme Packing Co.)
  • Early lines for the Packers-Rams game.

Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1)

Following a 27-17 win at home against the Arizona Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings will have another favorable matchup Sunday hosting the New York Jets at home. With a win and a Bears loss, the Vikings will be in first place all by themselves.

A win in needed as the Vikings next opponent will be a tough one as they will play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night next week. Although the Jets have struggled at times this season, they have one of the better defenses in the league and have won their last two games against quality offenses. It could be a close game as the Vikings will be without second year running back Dalvin Cook who will miss another game due to a slow healing hamstring injury.

Detroit Lions (2-3)

Detroit will be well rested as they had their bye week in week six and will be traveling to Miami to take on the Dolphin this Sunday. The Lions will be facing a Dolphins team that upset the Bears last week and needed the entirety of regulation and overtime to do so.

Detroit’s offense has been better the last few weeks as the offense has finally established a running game behind running backs Kerryon Johnson and LeGarrette Blount.

They have scored 24 points or more in their last three games with their only loss coming by just one point. With a win against the Dolphins, the Lions will put themselves right into contention for the NFC North division race with two of their next three games following Sunday’s game against division opponents.
