MLB Hall of Famer Andre Dawson is returning to the Chicago Cubs.
With new Miami Marlins co-owner and CEO Derek Jeter cleaning house in the organization, Dawson has been let go of his role in the baseball operations department.
But he won’t have to look long for another opportunity. According to Bob Nightengale, Dawson is about to rejoin the Cubs organization officially:

Patrick Mooney of NBC Sports Chicago confirmed Nightengale’s report on Monday morning saying that Dawson will rejoin the organization but it will not be on the coaching staff. Instead, it will be a ambassador role similar to the one of Ryne Sandberg.

Dawson played six of his 21 seasons in Chicago, winning the NL MVP in 1987. Now he’s back with the organization Cubs fans will likely see him around the ballpark and at more events with the team.
