The Chicago Blackhawks might be pretty active at the NHL Trade Deadline. But even before the deadline, a new report suggests that the Blackhawks have checked in on a few forwards already.
NHL.com reporter Brian Hedger reported that the Blackhawks have checked in on Toronto’s James van Riemsdyk and Colorado’s Gabriel Landeskog.
I'm told the #Blackhawks are checking into impact forwards via trade & have checked in w/ #leafs re: van Riemsdyk & #Avs re: Landeskog

The Blackhawks are looking for more production from their forwards, which could come via trade at the deadline. The report suggests that they have just checked in for now and nothing is imminent.
ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun confirmed the Blackhawks may have an interest in some forwards:
My understanding on Blackhawks right now is that they're not talking to teams about anything big. Subject to change, as always, but (con't)

Feeling with Hawks brass is that young forwards in organization and their continued improvement could be like internal trade adds (con't)

Things could heat up come deadline time.
