During the 2016 offseason the Chicago White Sox made several moves to build up their farm system. The two biggest came when they sent Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox which yielded Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech in return.
They then traded outfielder Adam Eaton for a package of prospects in pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning. Now almost 12 months later, the White Sox have the top farm system in baseball and could be looking to add to that.
According to Jon Heyman of FanRag sports, the White Sox and Red Sox have had talks regarding first baseman Jose Abreu:

It makes sense for Boston to target a player like Abreu. With Mitch Moreland going to free agency, they have a big need at first base and are looking for a slugger to add to their already impressive lineup.
Abreu slashed .304/.354/.552 with 33 home runs, 43 doubles and 102 RBI’s for the White Sox in 2017. It was one of his better years for the organization since joining them in 2014.
