According to Jim Callis of Baseball America and Dave Tollet, Chris Sale will join the Chicago White Sox in Detroit tonight as a reliever. Sale will be the first player from the 2010 MLB Draft to be called up from the minors. We are not sure if Chris will pitch tonight, or when he might make his first apperance.
FORT MYERS: Former Florida Gulf Coast University pitcher Chris Sale has been called up to the Chicago White Sox.
According to FGCU coach Dave Tollet, Sale was to meet with the team in Detroit on Wednesday.
The White Sox are scheduled to play the Tigers at 7:05 p.m.
Sale, who has skyrocketed through the White Sox’s farm system, was selected with the 13th overall pick in June’s first-year player draft.
The big lefty has struck out 19 batters in 10 1/3 total minor league innings.
