We have our first juicy little rumor of the Chicago Bulls offseason not regarding a player. Well, sort of.
It’s no secret that the Bulls Front Office is a mess. It has been for years. It likely will be in the future until big changes are made.
But according to a report from Marc Stein, a change could be happening this offseason.
Stein tweeted out that John Paxson could be taking on a bigger role in the organization, and doing more on the day-to-day operations.
Among the changes Chicago is considering, league sources say, is John Paxson reclaiming more of his previous day-to-day control of the team.

Paxson took a step back in the organization when the Bulls hired Gar Forman as General Manager back in 2009.
Chicago Tribune writer K.C. Johnson offered some insight on another change that may be happening:
The Bulls front office is small by league standards. Team President Michael Reinsdorf has been quietly gauging other organizational structures and is expected to push for more open debate, discussion and exchange of ideas between principal decision-makers.
The Bulls really haven’t hit on any draft picks aside from Jimmy Butler in 2011. Bobby Portis, a 2015 NBA Draft Pick, has shown some promise but he’s not a franchise-changing player.
Chicago has been stuck in basketball hell since Derek Rose tore his ACL the first time and failed to capitalize on the chance to get past the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Playoffs.
While there is plenty of blame to go around, the Gar/Pax relationship just isn’t working out and the Bulls continue to be a mess.
Aside from Butler, there’s no one to build around for the franchise. In the 2016 offseason, instead of getting younger, they brought in two aging players in Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo.
Granted, Rondo played very well in the first two games against the Boston Celtics, you can’t build around him.
If the Bulls don’t do something big, or right, this offseason, it will be another disappointing season at the United Center.
