After four games were complete in the series between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, one team had a 3-1 lead. That team was the Blues who were heading back to St. Louis with the chance to clinch.

Now following loses in games five and six, the Blues have to return to St. Louis with the series tied.

The Blackhawks kept the series alive by defeating the Blues 6-3 on Saturday night as the reigning Stanley Cup Champions fought off elimination again. Now the momentum is in the Blackhawks favor as they head to a game seven with the chance to advance.

But the series lead wasn’t the only thing the Blackhawks came back from 3-1.

Saturday’s game started with the Blackhawks striking in the first period to grab a 1-0 series lead. The Blues responded with three-straight goals in the period, shocking the United Center crowd taking the lead.

It was the last time the Blues would score.

The Blackhawks scored three goals in the second period to take a 4-3 lead as they completely dominated the period, playing with all sorts of intensity. Despite the Blues playing very well in the third, the Blackhawks used a power play goal by Andrew Shaw to grab a two-goal lead. Andrew Ladd sealed it with a empty-net goal as the United Center went nuts.

The win is a big one for the Blackhawks and a devastating one for the Blues, especially Alex Pietrangelo who had this to say after the game five loss:

Alex Pietrangelo: “It’s going to be fun to win it in Chicago. That’s the game plan right now. Their backs are still up against the wall.”

Oh Alex, to St. Louis we go!
