It was 11 years ago today, May 20, that Chicago Cubs catcher Michael Barrett escalated a benches clearing brawl.
As Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzysnki scored on a sac fly to left field, he plowed over Barrett at the plate.
After slapping the plate and angering Barrett, Pierzynski then began walking back to the dugout.
That’s when it got interesting. Watch as Barrett punches Pierzynski:
The White Sox were a year removed from winning the World Series and the Cubs, well they were just blah at the time.
Still, it goes down as one of the biggest moments in the Crosstown series between the two teams.
