Aaron Rodgers Championship Belt Celebration, Will we see it vs Pittsburgh?

Next weekend, many are questioning whether or not Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers should celebrate after touchdowns. After Aaron Rodgers scores, he likes to do a celebration as if he has a championship belt…a wrestling reference. If it’s one thing we love here at ChiCitySports, it’s wrestling references.

When your quarterback does a celebration after a touchdown, it pumps your team and your fans up. However when the opposing quarterback does a celebration after a touchdown, it puts a moving target on their chest.

Against Pittsburgh’s swarming defense, which is the #1 defense in the NFL, it may be a bad idea to taunt them. This guy is part of the opposition that Rodgers will be facing, do you think it’s a good idea to taunt him? Brett Keisel is one scary lookin’ mofo.

At the beginning of the season when the Rodgers celebration was gaining notoriety, I made this video for youtube.

I just wanted to point that out, because it took ESPN 4 months to do a special on it that featured Triple H.

As a Bears fan, I have seen Rodgers carve our defense up multiple times in the last several meetings. He’s a gutsy quarterback who rarely gets flustered. I am a big fan of Rodgers when he isn’t facing my Bears. I would love nothing more then to see Rodgers taunt Pittsburgh after scoring a touchdown. Not because I dislike Pittsburgh or anything, I want to see Rodgers piss that defense off. I think it will make for a very entertaining game.

A lot of journalists and websites are pointing towards advising Rodgers not to do his celebration against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as it will piss them off. GCobb is telling Rodgers not to bring the belt out vs Pittsburgh.

ChiCitySports is saying go for it Aaron. Wear that championship belt proud. However your ultimate wrestling reference may lead to Brett Keisel laying the smackdown on you. Remember, it was against the Steelers that Rodgers debuted his championship belt celebration.

Let us know what you think he should do in the comments section. Should he celebrate the touchdown as if it was any other team? Does the fact he’s playing the #1 defense change anything when taunting the opponent is brought up?

I’m torn because it’s the QBs job to be the leader and show maturity. On the other hand it’s the job of the defense to stop him. If they can’t stop him then he should strap the belt on.

I believe AR will keep it classy on the first scores (perhaps if there’s a late score with the game on the line he’ll unleash it) at least that’s the way I prefer it. The whole ‘team picture’ flap is a tell-tale sign of the Packers inexperience in the big game. What we need is focus, focus, focus until the clock reads all naughts with the Pack on top, then he can bring out a real live personalized belt for all I care.
