Arismendy Alcantara will join the Chicago Cubs for two days as the prospect was called up Tuesday night by the organization. Alcantara will be called up for two days as second baseman Darwin Barney will go on paternity leave.
Alcantara has been hot down at Triple-A Iowa this season and was expected to be the first Cubs prospect called up. Even though it’s only two days, the 22-year-old prospect will get his first taste of the majors.
While he will return to AAA after the two days are up, it shouldn’t be much longer until we see him with the team again.
