Sedrick Van Pran, Center – Georgia
Sedrick Van Pran is hands-down the best center in the 2024 NFL draft. No questions asked.
At a massive 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing in at 310 pounds, Van Pran is a monster on the offensive line for one of the best teams in the country. He has scheme versatility, meaning just about any offense you put him in, he can bolster it with his great blocking and high IQ.
Where his pride lies is the run blocking, where Van Pran seemingly moves defenders at will in the toughest conference in college football. This is an area I believe the Bears could improve tremendously, and with an addition like Van Pran, they could implement different rushing plays into the playbook. Where his weakness’ come into play is pass protection, as he could use some fine tuning in that department. I personally believe he progressed in that department this season, and improved his draft stock as the best center in the 2024 NFL draft.
Van Pran was also just named a finalist for the Remington Award, given to the nations top center. He’d be a considerable upgrade over Lucas Patrick, or anyone else currently on the roster, at the center position.
