The Chicago Bears have acted quickly and signed safety Ahmad Dixon off of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. The move gives the Bears another option at the safety position, where they continue to struggle.
Dixon was a 7th round pick out of Baylor this season, drafted by the Cowboys. After the Cowboys dropped him, he was signed to the Vikings practice squad.
To make room for Dixon the Bears have waived cornerback Demontre Hurst.
Dixon had 288 tackles, four interceptions and 12 pass break-ups in 50 games at Baylor. He started 38 of those games.
