He’s back.
The Chicago Blackhawks have made another move ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline as they have acquired winger Andrew Ladd from the Winnipeg Jets. The Blackhawks will send Marko Dano, a first round draft pick and a conditional draft pick in June’s NHL Draft.
The 30-year-old Ladd was part of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks team before he was shipped off to the then Atlanta Thrashers in the offseason. Now he returns with another chance to make a run at the Stanley Cup.
“It’s a great acquisition,” Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said via ESPN.com. “There’s a lot of familiarity. I’m sure his old teammates are pretty excited in a lot of ways. He brings the intangibles that you look for. He knows his way around our team. I’m sure he’s excited to come to Chicago as well.”
The Blackhawks also acquire Jay Harrison and Matt Fraser in the deal, as well as the Jets retaining 36 percent of Ladd’s cap hit.
