Before the season started the Chicago Bulls announced that forward Lauri Markkanen would miss some time with a right elbow injury, sidelining him for two months. That took away one starter in the Bulls’ starting lineup and now another player will miss significant time.
On Tuesday, the Bulls announced that point guard Kris Dunn would miss 3-4 weeks with an MCL sprain suffered in Monday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks on the road.

The Bulls are off to a 0-3 start this year, losing to Philadelphia, Detroit and Dallas so far. They have struggled to play any defense at all but have looked pretty solid on the offensive end.
Dunn missed the first two games of the season due to the birth of his first child. Against Dallas, Dunn scored nine points, seven assists and four rebounds while playing in 30 minutes.
Head coach Fred Hoiberg spoke on Dunn’s injury:
“It’s tough,” he said. “We obviously missed Kris in our first two games. Now to have him out of the lineup for an extended period, it’s extremely difficult. When you have a guy who is out there and really made strides over the course of last season and the summer he had and the way he played during training camp, it’s difficult to miss him.”
When Dunn missed the first two games, it was Cam Payne that filled in for him with Ryan Arcidiacono taking his place. The Bulls are next in action Wednesday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
