The last time the Chicago Cubs hosted an All-Star game was in 1990. Sammy Sosa was still playing for the Chicago White Sox at that time. The seven-time All-Star wouldn’t make his first appearance at the big-game until 1995.
The All-Star game is headed back to the North Side.
The Chicago Cubs are getting the 2027 MLB All-Star Game

Per Bruce Levine and 670 The Score, the league is set to name Wrigley Field as the destination for the 2027 MLB All-Star Game.
“Wrigley Field and the Cubs will be named the hosts of the 2027 MLB All-Star Game, sources told Score reporter Bruce Levine on Thursday afternoon,” per the report. Wrigley Field hasn’t hosted an All-Star Game since 1990.”
The MLB had been reluctant to bring the game back to Wrigley Field due to security concerns. Following an ordinance introduced Wednesday, the city plans to install $30 million worth of concrete bollards to put around the stadium.
The Cubs have hosted the All-Star game three times: 1947, 1962, and 1990. The Chicago White Sox have hosted the All-Star game four times: 1933, 1950, 1983, and 2003.
So it’s been well over two decades since the game has made an appearance in Chicago. The game will give the people of Chicago a chance to show off their city, and more importantly, a chance to watch the league’s best players square off for an exciting summer game.
Now the big question is: Will Kyle Tucker be representing the Cubs in Chicago in 2027?
