Just a week after a disappointing exit from the NLCS at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Cubs are making some big changes.
First, the team let go of long-time pitching coach Chris Bosio on Saturday, a move that no one really saw coming. Then on Thursday, the team completely re-tooled its coaching staff announcing the hirings of Chili Davis, Brian Butterfield, and Andy Haines.
Davis takes over as the hitting coach after the club decided not to renew the contract of John Mallee. Haines replaces Eric Hinske as the assistant hitting coach after Hinske took a job with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Finally, Butterfield replaces Gary Jones as third base coach.

We obviously expected some changes after a disappointing end to the season but a completely revamped staff is a little surprising.
The Cubs are still looking for their next pitching coach after interviewing Jim Hickey on Monday.
