Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was involved in a scary moment during the top of the first inning in Sunday’s 9-7 win. Bryant was hit in the head by a 96 MPH pitch and had to leave the game as the Cubs feared a concussion for the star.
While the Cubs went on to win the game, the concern was on Bryant and his health. During the game the team announced that Bryant passed all tests and suffered a laceration above his eye from his sunglasses. That was good news for Cubs fans during the game.
After the game, even more good news came.
The Chicago Tribune’s Mark Gonzales tweeted that Bryant is expected to fly with the team to Cleveland for a brief two-game series beginning on Tuesday. He will have some more tests done.

Gonzales also wrote on Monday morning that Bryant is “apparently fine” according to Joe Maddon and that he hasn’t heard anything serious about it. He will continue to be monitored and he likely will miss at least Tuesday’s game.
