It’s no surprise that the Chicago White Sox are one of the worst teams in baseball for a second straight season, but thankfully, the Colorado Rockies are playing even worse and are on pace to break the White Sox’s loss record. The White Sox will likely lose over 100 games this season, but that won’t matter, as the focus is to play as many young guys as possible to see if they have staying power.
The White Sox began calling up their top prospects earlier this season, with infielder Chase Meidroth and catcher Edgar Quero being the first of many to make their debut. The White Sox added to that list by calling up an under-the-radar name, with Tim Elko finally getting the call-up to the Show after a hot start down at Triple-A.
Elko will bring a hot bat to the Chicago White Sox lineup

The 26-year-old Elko had come out of the gates swinging, hitting .348/.431/.670 and having an OPS of 1.101 in 31 games. Even more impressive for Elko is that he has shown his power, hitting 10 home runs and driving in 23 in 112 at-bats.
The former product of the University of Mississippi has also shown he can hit both lefties and righties well, having a .333 average and 1.012 OPS against lefties and a .350 average and 1.111 OPS against right-handers. Elko has even shown that the pressure doesn’t get to him, as he has a .333 average with the bases loaded and a .280 average with runners in scoring position and has driven in 10 RBIs with RISP.
Elko’s ability to hit for power and hit in the clutch is what the White Sox desperately need, as the White Sox are 27th in baseball in RBIs (129) and have an abysmal .202 average with runners in scoring position according to Statmuse. Elko’s presence in the White Sox lineup should give the team a boost of energy, but more importantly, bring more fans to the ballpark, as they couldn’t be happier with Elko getting promoted!
White Sox fans rejoice with Elko’s promotion

White Sox fans couldn’t be happier that Elko will be debuting during the series with the Miami Marlins, with fans bombarding Twitter with their excitement.
“Pope made the call” one fan tweeted excitedly of Elko’s promotion.
“Now we will win. Was this a Papal edict?” Tweeted another.
“WE ARE SAVED!” rejoiced another excited White Sox fan.
“Wowwww. Maybe they’ll win 35 games this year” said one fan jokingly.
“Took long enough” said another relieved White Sox fan.
“ABOUT DANG TIME” rejoiced yet another excited fan.
“Good for him. As a State fan I was glad to see him go. Hell of a ball player.” Said another excited fan of Elko’s.
“Good for Timothy. Deserves it” tweeted another excited fan.
