Derrick Rose With Game-Winning Drive as Bulls Fend Off Indiana for 3-0 Lead

NBA PLAYOFFS – First Round – Game 3:

The Indiana Pacers came into this Game 3 with confidence knowing that they would be on their home court after putting forth a strong effort in the first two games in Chicago.

Once again, the Indiana Pacers would be in the game late in the fourth quarter, but the Bulls executed down the closing stretch of the game.

Derrick Rose hit a driving lay-up with 17 seconds in the game to give the Bulls a 86-84 lead, and the defense forced Danny Granger into a long, contested three-point attempt that clanked off of the side of the rim into the waiting hands of Ronnie Brewer— who hit two free throws with 1.7 seconds left to ice the game.

The Bulls walked out of Conseco Fieldhouse with a 88-84 victory and now have a 3-0 stranglehold on their first-round series.

The Bulls had to deal with hard fouls from Pacers’ center Jeff Foster and Dahntay Jones.  And Indiana once again forced the ball out of Derrick Rose’s hands— forcing other Bulls to make plays.

But the Pacers once again could not stop Kyle Korver from drilling clutch shot after clutch shot.  And Rose put them away at the end, despite a poor shooting night (4-of-18 from the field).

Boozer had an ineffective game once again, until he dunked on Jeff Foster in the closing minutes.

If the Bulls can find a way to run an effective offense with both Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer on the floor, then this series will almost definitely end in Game 4 on Saturday.

Luol Deng had 21 points, six rebounds and six assists in the victory.

The Chicago Bulls season is less than 30 days away, are they ready for the season?

What a difference a year makes! The Bulls were a .500 team last year and barely got into the playoffs; this year their the number one seed on the verge of going to the second round and beyond. Good job Chicago. That kind of improvement can happen in the NBA and NFL, but not in MLB.
