It was a long bumpy ride through the 1st rd but the Hawks did it! For the second straight year the Hawks have advanced to the Western Conference Semi-Finals. The Hawks came out hot as they led 3-1 half way through the 1st period. There was a huge swing in momentum, most likely coming from the big game 5 win in Chicago.
Chicago Goals were scored by Kane(4), Toews(2), Sharp(3), Keith(1) and Madden(1).
The Hawks had 10 minutes of 5-4 and they couldn’t convert on any of the four power plays. Yes four as Patric Hornqvist was charged with a 4 minute double minor for Hgh Sticking. On a related power play note the Predators scored there 1st and only power play goal of the series in the 2nd period.
The Hawks were charged with three penalties in the 3rd and a the Preds failed to convert on the great goalie play of Antii Niemi.
The Hawks will face the Vancouver Canucks in the 2nd rd.
