It was a Midweek Thriller at the BMO last night in Rockford, as the IceHogs hosted the Lake Erie Monsters. IceHogs ended the evening on top, winning the game 3-2. The IceHogs scored twice in the first frame, with goals by Kyle Cumiskey and Ville Pokka. Brandon Mashinter, for Rockford, opened up the second frame with a goal just 35 seconds into the period. Point of interest…Rockford did tally a additional goal during the second period, but it was waved off by the Referee. The Monsters then answered back with two goals of their own later in the second. The third period was hard fought by both teams, but the IceHogs were able to hold off the Monsters and get the win.
The IceHogs hit the road for their next two scheduled games and then return home for back to back games on April 3rd & 4th at the BMO Harris Bank Centre in Rockford.
