Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, have swept the Texas Stars at home this season by logging a Win last night in Rockford 4-3. The Stars struck twice in the 1st period and Rockford came back strong in the 2nd with three goals. Both teams added one additional goal each to the tally with Rockford coming out on top. Top Stars of the Game honors went to Rockford’s Rasmusssen, Abbott and Pokka.
The Annual Jersey Auction Night occurred last night, with the IceHogs wearing special honoring the area’s TAP organization. TAP stands for The Autism Program. Between the silent auction that happened during the game and the live auction post game, the IceHogs’ Charitable Foundation raised a reported $79,000 last night. Awesome. The news recently reported that IL State Funding for TAP was affected with the new Tax cuts the Governor has implemented. The raised funds will help provide services to area children affected by Autism.
The IceHogs play next this Wednesday March 25th at home. The game starts at 7pm.
